MERIDEN
The
Meriden branch of First Cooperative Association has a total
storage capacity of 533,000 bushels.

Service offered are seasonal
grain unloading, loading and storage.
Meriden will be open for fall harvest receipts only.
Fredrickson Grain started in 1934 as a trucking service and
evolved to a feed service with a small roller mill and bag feed.
It was purchased by First Farmers Coop in September of 1990,
keeping the same employees.
Construction dates are as follows:
1960
- Flat bean storage
1966 - Old wood house purchased from Quaker
Oats
1971 - Feed mill
built between elevator & feed warehouse
1974 - 80,000 bushel bean bin
1975 - 40,000 bushel cement silo, 500 bushel
per hour main grain leg, 17 government bins
1977 - 95,000 bushel corn bin
1978 - 105,000 bushel corn bin
1982 - 105,000 bushel corn bin
1984 - New office and shop, 12x70 scale
1996 - In the fall, quit drying corn at Meriden
1997 - Electric probe
1983 - 111,000 bushel bean bin was erected,
but was destroyed in
a storm in 1990.
January 1999 - Larry Field, propane technician
moved his shop to Meriden
March 1999 - Bill Willems, maintenance, moved
his shop to Meriden
