The Marcus petroleum division had its start in 1927 when 200 voting members established what was formerly known as the Community Cooperative Oil company. In 1938 the Community Cooperative Oil Company had 8 stations and 13 tankwagons located in Cherokee, O’Brien, Sioux, Plymouth and Woodbury counties. At that time in history, community Coop handled the largest volume of products of any member association of Farmland. The first automated cardtrol system was installed in 1984 in Marcus and currently pumps approximately 1000 gallons a day.

The Paullina station had their cardtrol installed in 1985. It currently pumps.

In 1996, the Coop purchased the Cleghorn C-Store from
The Marcus petroleum division currently has 2 full time employees.
The Paullina location operates with only 1 employee.
